COVID-19 has been raging around the world for over two years. In Hong Kong, we have experienced several waves of pandemics and gradually got used to it, and COVID-19 prevention has long been integrated into our daily lives. However, the outbreak of the fifth wave in early 2022 once again subverted our imagination.

The long-term care facilities (LTCFs) for the elderly, also known as elderly homes, were in eye of the city’s deadly COVID storm as over 90% of them had an outbreak. This issue of "CS Voice" analyses the conditions of the homes under COVID-19 and the elderly care policy in Hong Kong to better prepare ourselves for possible crisis of the same kind in the future.
