Service Introduction
Based on findings from a comprehensive survey about the caregivers of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) conducted by Child Rehabilitation Service, we have identified a need to foster positive attitudes and inclusive behavior within the community toward individuals with diverse abilities and needs.
In response to these findings, Hong Kong Christian Service, with the generous donation and sponsorship from the Kowloon Motor Bus Company (KMB), is jointly cooperating to launch "SEE EVERY NEED -- Seeing the World Through Children's Eyes" Community Inclusivity Project. This initiative aims to enhance public awareness and acceptance of elderly individuals, children with special educational needs, persons from multicultural backgrounds, and their caregivers, while advocating for the development of a more inclusive and supportive community environment for all.

The "SEE EVERY NEED - Seeing the World Through Children's Eyes" Community Inclusion Project promotes social inclusion through four core elements:
Children's Creative Arts Exhibition
The project collected 88 artistic works themed "A Magical Gadget to Transform Society for the Better," created by preschool SEN children and their families. These works showcase children's extraordinary creativity and rich imagination, allowing the public to see the unique perspectives on community inclusion through their pure and distinctive expressions.
Civic Engagement & Empathy Development
The project innovatively guided SEN children to observe community needs and directly participate in KMB bus exterior design, establishing a model where children with diverse abilities meaningfully contribute to public planning. By fostering children's ability to recognize others' needs, the program demonstrates their potential for community care while enhancing their confidence and civic engagement. This collaborative approach makes children's viewpoints an important element in community development, fully embodying the core concept of "Seeing the World Through Children's Eyes."
Bus Journey & Mobile Classroom
KMB sponsored three themed buses featuring a playful "capsule toy" concept, symbolizing how each passenger can become a surprise element in society, using a child's perspective to recognize everyone's unique needs in the community. These themed buses travel throughout Kowloon and the New Territories, displaying SEN children's artistic creations inside and outside the vehicles, allowing their creative perspectives to flow throughout the city. Interactive questions and audio guides on the buses lead passengers to understand different people's needs and stories, serving as an effective bridge connecting the community and promoting understanding and respect for diverse needs across society.
"Seeing Differences" Community Education Videos
This project has selected inclusive destinations across Hong Kong to produce a "Hong Kong Inclusive Attractions" video series. The videos focus on inclusive facilities in Kowloon and the New Territories, including child-friendly restaurants, inclusive parks, rest stations for elderly caregivers, and the Shamshuipo Library, encouraging the public to learn about and utilize these facilities. These videos will be played on buses, at bus stops, and on social media, dedicated to conveying values of inclusion to the public.
The project has also produced a special feature video focusing on the daily stories of caregivers, helping the public gain a deeper understanding of them and promoting societal understanding and support.
