Future Academy Career and Life Development Service
Introduction
The Future Academy Career and Life Development Service is funded by the Home Affairs and Youth Affairs Bureau, the Youth Development Commission, and the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust. The project collaborates with secondary schools to organise a variety of career and life development activities, enhancing the understanding of career planning and diverse pathways among students, parents, teachers, and alumni who have graduated or left school within the last six months. The aim is to enable youths to practice career and life development earlier, assist them in grasping the market trends and industry prospects in Hong Kong, and seize opportunities for national development, thereby making informed choices about their future education and employment.
HKCS has been funded since 2022, and the project will last for 3 years, providing services to partner schools. The second phase, launched in September 2025, collaborated with 16 secondary schools located in different regions across Hong Kong to offer all-rounded career and life development support services.
The service focuses on organising personal career stories and discovering youths' internal and external resources through the 3S (Life Story, Future Skills, Sustainable Development Goal) and 6C (Curiosity, Connection, Concern, Control, Confidence, Courage) elements, which drive young people to learn and enhance future skills. At the same time, by understanding the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), participants will gain clarity on global development trends, strengthen their career adaptability, and support their transition from school to the community and the workforce, moving toward their ideal career goals.
