Exploring children's potential in art

Art is an important tool for children to express themselves. We conducted a large scale Hong Kong wide study in 2002 on children’s art education and organised the first local children’s creative art exhibition in 2003, the first of its kind organised by a social service organisation. It was highly appreciated and parents’ consent was obtained for charity sale of the paintings. The fund went to our Children Arts Development Fund to support art training activities for our children in nursery schools, to subsidise deprived families to participate in art education and training, promoting to both parents and teachers as well as the public on children art education and training. The fund has supported more than 400 cases of deprived and CSSA families to attend children drama and concerts, 15 families to participate in overseas parent-child in art experiences and activities since its beginning .It also supported 45 teachers to art training and exchange. The fund realises the concept of equal opportunities for all in art education.

We will hold an art exhibition from 22 – 24 April in Art Gallery of Jockey Club Creative Arts Centre (JCCAC) All exhibits will be put up for charity sale, they will also be printed as an album for sale at $120. All sales will be put into the Children Art Development Fund.
