To help the underprivileged to make their little wishes come true, the Hong Kong Christian Service has launched the “Make a Wish Come True Programme” in 2008. Over the past seven years, more than 1,400 families/individuals were able to fulfill their little wishes.

The programme aims to generate greater concern from the community on the needy and raise fund through direct donations from individuals and corporations to provide subsidies to help eligible applicants who are from low-income or single-parent families, elderlies, children with special needs, disabled persons and ethnic minorities, to make their little Christmas and New Year wishes come true.

This year, around 300 Christmas and New Year wishes have been collected through our service units. Some of these wishes include:

  • Man Kit, who comes from a single-parent family, wants to have a family dinner with his four brothers who stay at different foster families or small group homes;
  • Madam Lau wishes to get a stick which can also be used as an umbrella to ease the pain she suffers on her waist and legs when going out;
  • Ah Mei, a handicapped girl receiving sewing trainings at school now, wants to get a sewing machine which may be helpful for her to make a living in future;
  • The four years old Hin Hin wants to be granted some new books so that he can spend more time reading with his mom.

Are you ready to help the needy to make their wishes come true?
