Seeing the World through Children's Eyes- A Tripartite Collaboration with Art Students and a Corporation
Children from troubled families who have to be temporarily taken care of by Foster Care Service can contribute to the community just like ordinary children. It will do well to encourage their participation in community service.
In collaboration with the students of the Hong Kong Art School, Foundation Diploma in Visual Art, a community service project, 'Seeing the World through Children's Eyes' was organized for our foster care children.
The art students arranged two creativity workshops in December 2005. Our foster care children were stimulated and created art pieces with the art students together to express their views of an ideal world.
Also, in April this year, an excursion for outdoor drawing was arranged. New World First Bus Services Ltd. sponsored the activity by offering one of its buses to transport the children to and from the excursion location. Moreover, the company generously offered to let the children's artwork and calendar of events be posted on one of its buses for at least a month, so that the beauty and innocence of these children can flow through our busy city and be shown to the public.
