Apple Kitchen
Apple Kitchen is the subsidiary of Apple Catering
& Consultancy Services Ltd.. The company offers
different kinds of cakes and dessert, and organises
cookery lessons. It also provides cake ordering
and delivery services. Apple Kitchen has established
a cooperative relationship with our Agency last
year, and assisted in organising the class of
"Cake Making" class for "LET'S
Walk Project" to develop the cooking potential
of those young people who are neither employed
nor in school.
Apple Kitchen concerns and supports the development
of young people. The company arranged chefs to
teach them about cake making and is also willing
to provide employment opportunities. To help this
vulnerable group of youth, Apple Kitchen has also
contacted catering companies, encouraged them
to hire the students, and help the students to
join the cooking industry. Besides, the company
was presented 5 ovens to "Life Engagement
Training Scheme" to support its cookery lessons.

Axalto Technologies Asia Limited (Axalto) is
the world's leading provider of microprocessor
cards and a major supplier of point-of-sale terminals.
It's worldwide sales exceeding 3 billion smart
cards to date for use in a variety of applications
in the telecommunications, finance, retail, transport,
entertainment, healthcare, personal identification,
information technology and public sector markets.
The company is enthusiastic in serving the needy,
especially the elderly. Ten of their managerial
and front-line staff members visited the Wah Hong
Hostel and celebrated the Mid-Autumn Festival
with our residents last year. The celebration
included singing, games and exercise demonstration.
Residents in the Hostel enjoyed very much and
also received gifts including mooncake from Axalto.
Residents greatly appreciated Axalto's care on
elders and welcomed them to come back again.

bauhaus is an innovative company engaged in distribution
and wholesaling. It became a listed company in 2005
and the business has developed globally including
the Europe market. bauhaus owns a variety of brands
such as Tough Jeansmith, Salad and 80/20 which are
very popular in the clothing market. Since 1996,
bauhaus and our Agency has built up a positive interactive
partnership. We collaborate to organise "LET'S
Walk Project" which is tailor-made for young
people who are unemployed or school leavers to help
them develop their individual potential and provide
on-the-job training to help them find their personal
direction. The Company also assists deprived youths
to enter the wholesaling sector by providing work
attire, donation and by sending their staff as instructor
to equip the young people. bauhaus also greatly
supports our fund-raising activities so that we
could have more resource for helping the needy.
The chairman of bauhaus is the consultant of "Life
Engagement Training Scheme".

EDIT DESIGN LTD. is a multi-disciplinary design
office which collaborates design experts from different
disciplines like architecture, public art, interior
design, photography, graphic and fine art. The Chief
Executive of EDIT DESIGN LTD. is not only involved
as a member of "Building·Power" Project
Committee but also utilizes the company's resource
such as venue, equipment to support the administration
work of the project for smooth operation.

Fast Base Enterprises
Ltd.
Fast Base Enterprises Ltd. (Fast Base) was founded
in 1991. The company is engaged in the design
and manufacturing of fine gauge easy-to-wear fashionable
sweater items. Its major factory plant is located
in Southern China and it also has a Joint Venture
offshore factories in Bangladesh. Fast Base has
around 50 staff in the Hong Kong Office.
Fast Base worked with our Agency since 2001.
It has made donations to HKCS's pilot projects
including "De-labelling Team", "Back
to School Project" and "LET'S Walk-Life
Engagement Training Scheme". It also contributed
fashion garments for sale for charitable trust
from time to time. In the past year, the company
greatly encouraged staff to get involved in different
charity functions. The designing team of the company
has provided training and sharing to non-engaged
youths regularly to help them develop their life
goals.

Co.
General Electric Co. (GE) traces its beginnings
to Thomas A. Edison, is a diversified technology
and services company. The business covers jet
engines, power generation, financial services,
plastics, medical imaging, news and information.
GE has been recognised as "The World's Most
Admired Company" by Fortune Magazine and
"The World's Most Respected Company"
by Financial Times from 1998 to 2004.
Last year, GE devoted many resources on supporting
the projects of our Agency. Apart from making
donations in kind, GE worked with our Agency in
carrying out several activities, like an Caring
Elders Funfair on 3 July in Shamshuipo. Volunteers
from GE also played the role of Santa Claus in
an activity in December, fulfilling Christmas
wishes of children who are living in Tin Shui
Wai and sharing a joyful time together.

Handi Design
Limited
Handi Design Limited has been our Agency's partner
since 2002. With the strong belief that the quality
of our surroundings may enhance the quality life,
Mr. Ng Chi Ho, the Managing Director, together
with his team, provided our different service
units with professional support and multifarious
services. These services are professional and
timely so that our service users and colleagues
can live and work in a good, secure and comfortable
environment.
Last year, four of the service units of Elderly
& Health Core Business, including Cheung Fat
Home for the Elderly, Shun Lee Hostel, Wah Hong
Hostel and Shun Lee Neighbourhood Elderly Centre
needed redevelopment and re-decoration to meet
the future service requirement. During that period,
Mr. Ng and his team volunteered to prepare the
architectural design. Mr. Ng even paid many visits
to our service units so that every inch of interior
design could fulfill the needs of every user.

Hong Kong Institute
of Architects
Hong Kong Institute of Architects (HKIA) founded
in 1956, has more than 2,100 full members and
over 370 associate members and graduate members,
aimed at enhance knowledge on the advancement
of Architecture and to promote and facilitate
the acquirement of knowledge of the various Arts
and Sciences connected therewith. The Institute
is committed to raising the standard of architecture
in Hong Kong and the standard of professional
service offered by its members. The Institute
also serves the public by applying the collective
expertise of its members in an advisory role to
Government and to the building industry. Today,
HKIA is represented in numerous consultative or
advisory bodies, ranging from a working group
which counsels the drafting of new building and
planning legislation to a committee which formulates
standard contracts for use in the building industry.
In addition to the above contributions, HKIA
co-organised a social service project with our
Agency called "Building·Power". The
project aims at improving the living environment
of the families and recruited the low-income and
unemployed workers to do the renovation work.
Part of the project income comes from the subsidy
of their young architects funding - "The
Partnership Fund of The Disadvantaged and The
Young Architects' Project Fund". The project
is also supported by the architects who are using
their expertise in improving the living standard
of low income families in Hong Kong.

Image By Y.Y. Limited, which also includes a newly
established indoor design service company "Y
Plus Design Studio Limited", is a multilateral
image consultant company. We have been collaborating
with Image By Y.Y. Limited to provide vocational
training, image design and make up courses to the
youngsters that are unemployed or out-of-school
to build up their confidence. At the same time,
the image director of the company also has provided
special talks and trainee opportunities for the
young people to experience the real-life situation
of this industry. Image By Y.Y. Limited actively
supports our fund raising activities and use their
network to promote and raise money for our Agency.
Besides, they also have employed the youngsters
who are graduated from our "Project CITY -
City Intensive Training for Youth" as image
assistant and provided on-the-job training to help
young people see their future direction.

Industrial Limited
Lai On Products Industrial Limited is an arts &
crafts manufacturer that has actively supported
our Early Childhood Education Service for many years.
In the past year, they have been providing variety
of art supplies and professional art knowledge including
paint, the basic knowledge and application of these
tools and the latest product information to our
nine nursery schools consecutively. In order to
meet the needs of the Children, they have made different
kind of paints so that the children could have more
creating space. The Chief Executive of the company
together with his wife were invited as the officiating
guest of the children's creative painting exhibition
organised last year. In the exhibition, they were
highly appreciative of our children's painting and
purchased 22 children's painting with donation of
HK$88,300. This will support the foundation of our
"Children Arts Development Fund" which
promotes children arts and education in Hong Kong.

Sourcing Limited
Mattel Asia Pacific Sourcing Limited (Mattel)
is the world's leading toy company with a rich
and diverse portfolio of premier brands. The volunteer
team of Mattel was vigorous and enthusiastic.
They have abundant experience in delivering voluntary
service. Besides, they were well-equipped with
skills including hair cutting and use of wheelchair
for serving the elderly. Last year, a group of
enthusiastic staff members from Mattel provided
a great variety of voluntary service to the physically
impaired residents of our service unit "Cheung
Fat Home for the Elderly". They escorted
the residents to the restaurant for lunch, to
supermarket for shopping and to Maritime Square
for sight-seeing of Christmas decorations. They
also offered hair-cutting service to the elderly.
Through these activities, the volunteer team has
established the close friendship with the elders.
The residents of the "Cheung Fat Home for
Elderly" were very impressed by Mattel staff
members' caring attitude, attentive listening
and heartfelt support. They showed much appreciation
to the volunteer team for serving them joyfully
and enriching their lives with happy and warm
experience.

New Idol Group
New Idol Group (Cheung Sha Wan Branch) is a
hair style and beauty treatment company founded
in 1975. It has built up partnership with our
service unit "LET'S Walk Project" which
aimed at guiding non-engaged youth towards meaningful
engagement through discovering their potential
and widening their exposures since last year.
During the year, New Idol Group has provided a
wide range of services for the non-engaged youth,
including training courses, field visit, on-the-job
experiential learning and job opportunities, etc.
HKCS has organised two sharing activities named
"When life meets" to help youth building
up positive faith and attitude towards their life.
New Idol Group's hair stylists were invited to
share their path of success, including how to
make choices and overcome difficulties. In addition,
New Idol Group has offered some hair style creation
training below market price, which provides opportunities
for young people to advance their customers relation
skills.
The company's compassion and enthusiasm touches
our hearts. Some youth members were at loss towards
their life and some suffered from the difficulties
of "Social Withdrawal". No matter how
diverse the needs of youth members, New Idol Group
paid much attention to them with genuine concern
and guidance. For example, when one youth member
could not handle hair style creation skills and
perform poorly, New Idol Group considered the
interests and growth of youth member as the first
concern and treated him with patience and caring.
Cson Yu, the shop manager said, "We try our
best to help if we can!" This indicates their
attitude of total service with all one's heart
and mind.

NEXT Hair &
Spa
NEXT Hair & Spa (NEXT) is a salon offering
personal treatment services such as hair cutting
and facial treatment. NEXT has worked with our
Agency since December 2004. It arranged young
people who have lost their directions to visit
its high-class salon in Central. Hair stylists
were invited to share with young people their
experience so that they could know more about
the profession and the criteria to become a professional
stylist.
NEXT also provided trainee opportunities for
student of "LET'S Walk Project" so that
they could learn more about the operation and
development of the industry.
NEXT also concerned about the development of trainees
and arranged staff to provide guidance.

Nixon Cleaning
Co. Ltd.
Nixon Cleaning Co. Ltd. (Nixon) provides professional
cleaning and pest control service. Nixon currently
employ over 2,000 staff to serve more than 300
cleaning contracts, including prime office developments,
industrial buildings and residential estates.
"Professional Service" and "Serve
with Heart" are the basic requirement to
the staff and the promise to clients. The Company
not only provides consistent quality service,
but also takes "Contribution to Society"
as its mission. For instance, they will provide
intern opportunities to unemployed South Asians
to help them assimilate into the local community.

In order to promote volunteering and serve our
society, Otis works with our Agency to carry out
a project called "Caring Angels for the Elderly".
One of the activities was held last year, visiting
100 living-alone elders, inspecting the safety
of their homes and conducting home repairs. Otis
sponsored the project and her staff were the "Angels"
(volunteers).This activity aimed at minimising
the number of household accidents and enhancing
the elders' awareness in safety.

sponsored the "Building·Power" Project
and a corporate volunteer team was formed to help
carry out the project.

Group 4 Securicor (G4S) has provided comprehensive
security services in Hong Kong for more than 40
years. It has offered free cash management services
including flag bags collection, overnight custody,
as well as money deposit to bank on the next banking
day for our 2nd flag day on 14 May last year.
This was the second time G4S support our Agency
following our first flag day since 2004.

Management Limited
Established in 1979, Sino Estates Management
Limited (SEML) is one of the major property management
companies in Hong Kong. It is a wholly owned subsidiary
of Sino Land Company Limited providing high quality
management services to customers. SEML offers
professional property management services to over
160 properties, which include residential, commercial
and industrial properties and shopping malls.
In addition to Hong Kong, SEML also manages properties
in Xiamen in the Mainland China.
The Sino Volunteer Team has organised a number
of elderly service activities. The Company has
joined our Agency to organise the "Relocation
of Shek Kip Mei Single Elderly Program" to
help the single elderly affected by the urban
relocation project. Volunteers have also helped
to repaint elderly hostels. Besides, in order
to have the work completed more efficiently, "specialists"
from the maintenance department were invited to
participate to make the work proceed more efficiently.
Apart from the above, the Volunteer Team has organised
the "Mooncake Speaks for My Heart" elderly
hostel visit and celebration dinner at Mid-Autumn
Festival for 5 consecutive years. It has provided
assistance to the Athletic Gala for the elderly
and release space to put our donation box for
the "Care for the Elderly Raffle Ticket"
to appeal public support by donating money.
