Mission

  • To develop the potentials of the young people and to promote a humane and just society.

  • To assist the young people to become happy, mature, responsible and contributive members in the society.
  • To build up a favorable environment for the growth and development of the young people.

    Specific goals

    • In individual aspect: To assist young people to learn self-appreciation, so as to build up their self-esteem, self-confidence and resilience; to develop their creativity, critical thinking and life skills as well as to enhance their righteous attitude and ability in emotional control.
    • In social aspect: to promote young people to concern others, establish good interpersonal relationship, respect other’s views and to become a contributive member in society.
    • To enhance social awareness and social participation of young people, as well as to arouse community understanding and concern on youth.

Service Recipients

  • Children and youth aged 4 to 24, who are studying and living within our service boundary.
  • We also provide supportive services for young people with special needs, their families and concerned parties.

Service Content and Approach

  • For young people who are vulnerable to bad influence, we will reach out to places where they frequently wander so as to provide individual guidance and counseling services.
  • To organize different nature of groups, programs and courses in our main office and sub office.
  • To provide tailor-made services for the primary and secondary schools in our district
  • To provide stationing school social work service in Maryknoll Fathers’ School, HKSYCIA Wong Tai Shan Memorial College, Chan Shu Kui Memorial school (School Social Workers’ stationing time: Every Tuesday to Friday, 9:00a.m. to 5:00p.m., except school holidays)

Membership

Members can receive professional services from our social workers and can enjoy special discounted prices in joining groups, programs and courses in four Happy Teens Club of our Agency.

How to apply for a membership

  • To apply for a membership, please produce your HKID Card or relevant documents at our main office or sub office during opening sessions.
  • Pay an annual membership fee of $29 for Individual Membership (To be adjusted in accordance with SWD policy)
  • Parent consent and signature are required for children under age 12
  • The membership of our service unit will be expired after 1 year. For those who do not renew membership before of the membership expiry date, membership will be void automatically. Those who would like to quit our membership before the expiry date can send their written application to our unit. Membership fee is non-refundable.

Family Membership

  • Parents having children and youth of aged 6 to 24 can apply family membership at $60/annual. The application procedure is same as individual membership.

Entry to Service

  1. Apply the program in person at Nam Shan Main Office during opening hours OR
  2. Fill in the application form for the program. (Download PDF DOC) Together with the application form, please issue a crossed cheque to 「HONG KONG CHRISTIAN SERVICE」and send it to “Hong Kong Christian Service Sham Shui Po East Happy Teens Club” G/F., Nam Wai House, Nam Shan Estate,Sham Shui Po, Kowloon.
    (Please write the name of the program at the back of the crossed cheque)
  3. Applicants must fulfill the criteria of specific programs. Recruitment will be usually based on its pre-set criterion and selection procedures or on first-come-first-served basis
  4. Withdrawal from Service
    • Anyone who wants to withdraw from service can contact our staff for arrangement. For details, please read our notice or our newsletters.
    • For participant who wants to apply for refund, he/she can bring along the valid receipt to our main office at least 7 days before the program starts. We will deduce some administrative cost and spent program expenses. The maximum refund amount will be 50% of the program fee.
    • Application of refund with less than 7 days before the program start date will not be entertained.
  5. For recipients of Comprehensive Social Security Assistance Scheme or low-income families, please contact our social worker for assistance if there is any financial difficulty encountered in paying the fee.
