In the recent years, teen bully in school campus has
roused much concern among the community. One of the
most effective ways to intervene such practice of violence
is to encourage an environment of harmony and care in
school. It is therefore significant to form a united
front from all concern parties, such as teachers, parents,
students and social workers. Together, they strive to
eradicate the unacceptable behaviour.
Currently, our School Social Work Service has developed
a series of program to advocate a caring and harmonious
school environment. The program has five parts: 1) setting
the criteria of an anti-bully policy in school; 2) signing
of a peace manifesto as a gesture to uphold a declaration
of harmony and peace at school; 3: tailor-making certain
class activity programs on methods to cultivate values
such as mutual respects, conflicts intervention, acceptance
of differences among one another; 4) equip parents the
skills in handling difficult issues of their children;
5) training workshops for teachers to detect signs that
call for early intervention or prevention, and opportunities
to share ways in establishing an harmonious school setting.
The essence of the packaged program is based on prevention
and education. HKCS wishes to share these programs with
all schools and to encourage the usage of any number
of programs in the package that are found relevant.
Acknowledgement of using our programs would be greatly
appreciated. More details of the package can be found
in our webpage.
