The Opening Ceremony for HKCS Jockey Club Lodge of Rising Sun

The first residential-cum-out-patient center for young drug abusers HKCS Jockey Club Lodge of Rising Sun, which began to operate in June 2003, held its opening ceremony on 13 December. It marked a new milestone for young drug abusers service.the Opening Ceremony

On that day, the Commissioner for Narcotics, Mrs. Rosanna Ure; Assistant Director of Health Department, Dr. Cindy Lai; the Executive Director, Charities and Corporate Secretariat of Hong Kong Jockey Club, Mr. William Yiu and the Chairperson of our Management Committee, Rev. Li Ping Kwong, officiated the opening ceremony. The guests and visitors accompanied by the staff toured around and showed great interest in this one-stop comprehensive treatment and rehabilitation centre.

In addition to conducting outpatient and inpatient (only for male clients) anti-drug counseling, detoxification and medical treatment, the center also provides individual and family counseling, therapeutic group counseling, life-skill training, recreational and social activities to those who come to seek help.

The concept of one-stop service facilitates flexibilities in applying various treatment methods to meet the clients' various needs. In a safe and rehabilitative environment, young drug abusers are encouraged to deal with their drug problem directly, to rebuild a normal life, to strengthen their drug resistance and to regain a drug-free life.
