Daytime Elderly Service in Need

In view of a rapidly aging population and a considerable demand for community support services nowadays, it is timely for service providers to develop innovative and integrated services to actuate the concepts of "Aging in Place" (living in a familiar community), "Community Care" and "Continuum of Care". The ultimate purpose of these services is to help the elderly people lead a dignified and respectful life in their familiar environment for as long as possible; henceforth, a caring and mutually supportive community.

In the latter half of the year 2002, two newly developed elderly service units, namely the Lotus Day Care Centre for the Elderly in Shamshuipo District (with a capacity of 20) and the Chin Wah Day Care Centre for the Elderly in Kwun Tong District (with a capacity of 60), commenced their respective operations in June and December. Both of them integrate well into our existing elderly service units. Under the current management, the incorporation of these new units further advances our mission to provide holistic network of services to the elderly. We hope that the additional services and the cooperation with different strategic alliances in the districts will ultimately bring forth a comprehensive and quality services to the elderly.
