Dr. Josephine A.V. Allen, Immediate President of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) from the United States visited HKCS on January 31. Dr. Allen was most concerned and interested in our Prevention and Rehabilitation Service for Substance Abusers, Family Counseling Service and Small Group Home Service. There were in-depth sharing amid her, our Director Mr. Ng Shui Lai and the respective service supervisors.

Two professors from Taiwan Tunghai University present souvenir to HKCS's representative (middle)Two professors and 13 students from the Social Work Department of Tunghai University in Taiwan visited us on February 16 (reception by our Corporate Affairs and Community Relations Department). The delegation was especially interested in the development of the Family Service and the Infant Stimulation and Parent Effectiveness Training Project in Hong Kong. They were also impressed to receive the handicrafts prepared by members of our Social Centre For The Elderly.

Mr. Wu Jian Rong (middle)The General Secretary of the Shanghai YMCA, Mr. Wu Jian Rong, visited HKCS during his stay in Hong Kong after the YMCA meeting. Our Assistant Director, Mr. Suen Lai Sang, shared with Mr. Wu on our relationship with churches as well as the overall development of our various youth services. Mr. Wu was also accompanied to visit one of our Outreaching Teams and had spoken with our frontline workers and clients.

A delegation of four members from Bombay Community Public Trust (BCPT) visited HKCS on March 19. They recently received a grant from the Ford Foundation to study different community foundations in Asia. In this regard, they visited us and other members of the Community Chest in Hong Kong.
