Future Directions
In the 80s, the 4 directions derived from the Agency's mission were providing innovative service, advocating social policy, promoting community education, and supporting the development of human resources.
In 1997, Hong Kong became the Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China. Facing the rapid changes in the social, economic, political, and welfare sectors, the Agency has examined its future directions towards the Millennium.
Our Declaration
We commit ourselves to provide quality service to cater for the needs of society, and to use the resources in full. We also strive for advocating just social policy. With the cooperation from other service centres and organizations, we aim at constructing a healthy community environment. Thus, people can enjoy harmonious relationships and develop one's potential through a secure social supporting network.
It is hoped that we can empower the service recipients to have a positive attitude towards life. They are encouraged to take an active role in solving their problems. Furthermore, they are inspired to take part in building their own community and live a fruitful life.
Since Hong Kong is now a Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China, we should also have a role in our country's social welfare development.
To implement the above objectives, human resources are essential. Thus, we will nurture a culture of continuous learning that will enable each staff to grow and do their best.
