The Joint Graduation Ceremony of the

Day Care Centre Service

"Love Hong Kong, Love Our Home"

Pre-school education is the first learning stage in the educational path.

It aims to develop a child's growth in both physical and intellectual aspects.

The completion of pre-school education also symbolizes an encouragement

in parenthood, as they have offered a lot in assisting their children to promote

to primary education.

On July 28, 1997, a joint graduation ceremony was held by our 8 day

care centres at the Shatin Hall Auditorium. There were 256 children completed

their pre-school education. Mr Andrew Leung K.P., JP, Director of the Social

Welfare Department was the guest of honor in the ceremony.

This year's theme was "Love Hong Kong, Love Our Home." Mrs Sandy

Tsang Kam Sau Wan, Service Supervisor of Day Care Centre Service, explained

that since 1997 is the year of the Hand-over, students had much chance to

share their different kinds of feelings and thinking during the year. Some of

their impressions on Hong Kong were drawn as pictures. These pictures were

then made into slides used in the musical drama for the graduation ceremony.

Moreover, the Hand-over not just only influenced the students, it also

influenced their families. Therefore, the parents have written another drama

for the ceremony to express their future expectations on Hong Kong.
