"The Grand Celebration of Golden Sweethearts" Wedding Gowns and Suits Remembrance of Sweet Moments "The Grand Celebration of Golden Sweethearts" was held by our 4 social centres for the elderly (Tsimshatsui, Shun Lee, So Uk and Lotus) at the YMCA International House on September 29, 1997. Its aim was to promote married lives between the elderly through a variety of functions such as games, lectures, and wedding pictures taking.
During the celebration, 3 awards were given to 3 different couples: "The Longest Marriage Award" ; "The Sweetest Smile Award" and "The Most Alike Award" . 
Miss Hui Shuk Yee, Centre-in-charge of Social and Recreational Service of the Christian Family Service Centre, was invited to give a speech on "The Secret of a Harmonious Marriage". After Miss Hui's speech, all elderly couples were then dressed in wedding gowns and suits and began to take their wedding pictures. Some of them were shy and some were natural. However, the one thing they all had in common was the sweet smile on their faces. |
