"The Social Withdrawal Phenomenon: Practical Wisdom" –Free Book for Distribution

The Social Withdrawal Phenomenon: Practical Wisdom

LET'S Walk - Life Engagement Training Service was specifically designed for all non-engaged youth aged 14 to 24 in 2004. LET'S Walk II was later launched in 2006 in order to develop an "advanced service model". On 1 August 2007, The Community Chest of Hong Kong started to fund LET'S Walk to extend the service for another 2 years.

Recently, a book named "The Social Withdrawal Phenomenon: Practical Wisdom" was published to sum up and share our experience in serving non-engaged youths who are socially withdrawn. In this book, the origin, definition, causes and symptoms of the "socially withdrawn" phenomenon are introduced. Also, a comparison between Japan and Hong Kong is made. This book is especially designed for social workers, parents and teachers, to provide simple and practical intervening methods to recognize and help non-engaged youths who are socially withdrawn as soon as possible.

The book is distributed free of charge to all secondary schools and organizations providing services for youths. A small proportion is reserved for the public. If you are interested or have any enquiries, please feel free to call 3188 5050.
