New Service Unit for Local South Asian People
Hong Kong Jockey Club Community Project Grant: Integrated Service Centre for Local South Asians (ISSA) is funded by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust. It aims at engaging local South Asian people in Hong Kong, particularly those who are living, working and studying in the West Kowloon Districts. ISSA offers user-friendly services to local South Asians through our one-stop holistic approach in which a wide variety of services are provided. The main focus of ISSA is to facilitate better adjustment and development of local South Asians as well as promoting social integration between them and the local Chinese people.
Major services of ISSA include essential support to local South Asians in knowing and accessing social services. These include interpretation and consultation services, programs which enhance local South Asians' capacity and knowledge for better adjustment such as the South Asian Ladies Enhancement Program and After School Support to South Asian Children, and activities in promoting multi-cultural understanding and mutual support such as the "Friendly Enterprise" Campaign, which consists of the formation of mutual support groups and organization of a variety of cultural exchange activities.
Any party who wants to know more about ISSA is welcome to contact us at 3188-2525. We look forward to working together with friends from diverse sectors to create a harmonious and integrated society.
