HKCS Social Working Supervision Purchased by Shenzhen
Having consent on providing supervision service for their social workers in Shenzhen on an equal, fair and trustworthy basis, a cooperation agreement was signed by Shenzhen Civil Affairs Bureau and Hong Kong Christian Service (HKCS) on 18 September 2007.
Four experienced supervisors from HKCS were assigned to provide supervision and training to 33 social workers from the 11 units designated by the Civil Affairs Bureau as 'test points'. Their task is to help establish a social work management concept model and a standard of work procedures. They also act as consultants to the Bureau to advise on the setting up of the social service mechanisms.
With the positive support of the Bureau as well as the high priority given by the Chinese Government, we are sure that the social work profession in the Mainland will progress quickly.
