2006-07 Staff Award Scheme
The pursuit of performance excellence has become one of the most important forces leading to personal and organizational success and growth in the new millennium. The Staff Award Scheme, first launched in 1991, gives awards to individuals, service units and projects recognizing their outstanding performance in different aspects. It also aims to raise staff awareness about the importance of quality and performance excellence.
The final assessments of the 2006-2007 Staff Award Scheme were successfully held in June and July 2007. The Professional Achievement Award went to the Study Group on Internet Addiction, which belonged to the Integrated Children & Youth Service. The group has effectively applied a professional theory and developed a method for motivating the clients to tackle their Internet addiction issue.
The School Social Work Service received the Outstanding Service Unit Award for its efforts to address community needs and collaborate with other professionals such as the Hong Kong Police Force and the medical professionals. In addition, they proactively collected feedback not only from schools and students, but also parents, in order to develop a customer-oriented service direction in the future.
The "Inspiring Children's Art Potential - Unfolding Civic Character" Workshop, conducted by the Early Childhood Education Service was awarded the Outstanding Project Award (enhancing service effectiveness), recognizing the effectiveness of developing civic character in children while inspiring their potential in arts. The 'Positive Expression' Campaign of Family Networks: Yau Tsim Integrated Family Service Centre was awarded the Outstanding Project Award (Implementing Creative Service) for identifying the core issue of domestic violence, tackling the issue from a preventive perspective and effectively promoting positive expressions in families. The Outstanding Project Award (Establishing Healthy Community) went to Project Link - Interpretation Support to South Asians. This project was under Project Link and the Working Group of Ethnic Minority Service (by Happy Teens Club and Project SASA). The project team dealt with the language barrier faced by the South Asians, particularly the ethnic minority women residing in Hong Kong, on a timely and proactive manner and provided interpretation support that would facilitate their integration and inclusion in the society.
Last but not least, Outstanding Staff Awards were given to 10 individual employees appreciating their outstanding performance and commitment. The recipients included Chan Chi Wai, Har Wai Ming, Lee Hin Kwong, Lee Tze Ching, Lew Mei Ling, Li Chi Mei, Sita Limbu, Siu Shiu Wing,Szeto Kit Ching and Tsim Siu Chung .
