Children's Creative Arts Exhibition - Heart Journey in Love and Dream
Children, being part of the community, do have their views on what is happening in Hong Kong. Students from HKCS nursery schools were encouraged to express their feelings through art on current hot issues, such as the demolition of the Star Ferry Pier, the redevelopment project in Kwun Tong and the Smoking Ban Campaign. This in turn brought about the 'Children's Creative Arts Exhibition - Heart Journey in Love and Dreams' which was sponsored by Osage Art Foundation and Lai On Products Industrial Ltd. The event took place at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre in May.
There were over 280 art pieces including drawings, photographs and three-dimensional models, created by over 370 children aged four to six from our 9 nursery schools. These pieces were sold to raise money for our Children Arts Development Fund.
We would like to express our gratitude to the children's parents. They have offered us their full recognition and support. They have not only allowed us to sell their children's creations to raise money for our Children Arts Development Fund which supports and continues to promote children's arts education, but also participated in a Love campaign, to transfer some of the artworks to the hospice wards of 6 local hospitals to share with the patients the creativity, the splendid colors and the joy of the children.
