With the assistance from over 500 volunteers and the generous donations by kind-hearted citizens and HKCS friends, we have successfully raised over HK$370,000 from the "Care for the Elderly Raffle" program held during 28 October to 2 December 2006.

This is the fourth year we took part in this joint program to raise funds for our elderly services. The funds raised this year are used for supporting 2 self-financed elderly service projects： "Oral Health Program for the Elderly" and "Institute of the Third Age".

The Oral Health Program is a new program targeted to promote knowledge on oral care to the elderly, and provide dental check-ups and treatments to the elderly with financial difficulties. More than a thousand elders are expected to benefit from the program.

Institute of the Third Age, established in 1991, provides continuing education to the elderly to help them advance with society, develop self-esteem and live happily in their golden years. The Institute serviced 1,600 persons in year 2005/06.
