Over 1,600 cheerful faces gathered at the fourth HKCS Walkathon. It was held at Shatin Park on April 1 to celebrate HKCS 55th Anniversary and raise funds for supporting our agency's service development.
The number of participants this year was a record-high. Among the participants were over 200 HKCS graduates and former service recipients who came back with their families and friends in response to our 55th anniversary homecoming call, making the event especially heartwarming.
The kick-off ceremony started with performance with guitar accompaniment by the famous folk song singer, Mr. Albert Au, our Walkathon Ambassador.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Ng Shui Lai, Chief Executive thanked the participants for their support to HKCS. He pledged to continue to be responsive to the needs of society and develop timely and appropriate services for the needy.
Following the prayer led by Management Committee Chairman, Rev. Li Ping Kwong, the walk was kicked-off by the officiating guest team formed by our Management Committee and representatives of service recipients, graduates and staff.
