HKCS nursery school student won first place in International Design Competition

In June, Green Power, an international non-profit environmental protection organization, together with United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), organised an international poster and postcard design competition. The theme was "Green Care, Peace and Power". Over 400 children from 9 different countries, such as U.S.A., Canada and New Zealand, participated in the event.

We are very happy to announce that one of our very own upper class students, Lam Tsz-ching from the Kwun Tong Nursery School won first place in the Elementary Division (2 - 5 years old).

HKCS Student Chosen As One of Hong Kong’s Representatives for The International Junior Leadership Conference

Miss Lam Ka-yu from our Kwun Tong Vocational Training Centre outpaced a group of extraordinary students to become one of the 5 representatives for Hong Kong at the very first Federal Express International Junior Leadership Conference. Federal Express Corporation (FedEx), Junior Achievement of The Palm Beaches, World Trade Centre Palm Beach and Northwood University organised this conference.

Lam and the other 4 Hong Kong representatives, together with over 100 students between the age of 16 - 19 years old, representing19 countries and regions, flew to West Palm Beach, Florida during the summer holidays. They learned about different aspects of leadership, such as the entrepreneurship and free enterprise, ethical business practices, global business perspectives, creativity and innovation, arts and business and leadership principles. They visited FedEx operations in the United States and received pointers on how to run a business from top leaders in the commercial field, including the president of NBA.

Lam comments that the thing that impressed her most about the trip was the opportunity to hear from top business leaders. The sharing on their business knowledge and experiences benefited her greatly.

We take this opportunity to congratulate both of our students and wish them further success in the days ahead.
