2005-2006 Staff Award Scheme

The search for excellence has become one of the most important forces leading to personal and organizational success and growth in the new millennium The Outstanding Staff Award, first launched in 1991, is given to individuals, service units and projects to recognise their outstanding performance in different aspects.

Mr. Ng Shui Lai, JP, Chief Executive of Hong Kong Christian Service proudly announced the results of the 2005-2006 Staff Award Scheme during the Award Presentation Ceremony. It was held on 5 December 2006 at the Academic Community Hall, Hong Kong Baptist University.

The Happy Adventure Group for Parents and Children of the Mobile Adventure Service - Happy Adventure Working Group was awarded the Outstanding Project Award (Service Integration) in recognition of its commitment to families with disabled children. The "Developing Own Ideas" Series of Ka Fuk Small Group Home III was awarded the Outstanding Project Award (Service Quality Enhancement) for its efforts to equip children with problem-solving skills on top of basic residential care. The Outstanding Project Award (Service Development) went to the Online New Page of Integrated Children and Youth Service - Online New Project Working Group in recognition of its quick response to tackle the issue of Internet addiction among youths.

The PS33 Centre for Psychotropic Substance Abusers received the Outstanding Service Unit Award for its customer-service excellence. The PS33 Centre has established various mechanisms to involve its service users in service evaluation as well as enhancement. The preventive education on substance abuse offered by the PS33 Centre has also been well received and recognized by probation officers, local educators and school social workers.

The Professional Achievement Award went to the Strategic Planning Team for the Unengaged Youth of Social Rehabilitation Service and Service Projects. Motivational-Interviewing Approach was applied to assist socially withdrawn people to regain social functioning. The award examiners were particularly impressed by the devotion of project team members towards the people in need.

Last but not least, Outstanding Staff Awards were given to 10 individual employees in appreciation of their outstanding performance and commitment.
