2007-08
- This certificate is awarded to our volunteers in appreciation in their contribution of 33820.5 hours of volunteer service to the community in 2007.
- HKCS achieved the thematic winner, non-thematic winner, and 3 Outstanding Awards in The 2007 Best Practice Awards in Social Welfare were organized by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service to arouse more recognition of good practice by the sector, promote public awareness of the contribution of the welfare sector and enhance cross-service professional exchange and sharing of experiences.
- Our partner, Hysan Development Company Limited together with our Agency designed a program the Ethnic Youth Enhancement Scheme (EYES) –which is to train a group of youngsters, aged between 16 and 21, from ethnic minority groups to teach them practical skills. This program was launched in the summer in 2007 and our partner has won the Best Practice in Corporate Social Responsibility with this program in Best Practice Awards 2007 organised by Best Practice Management.
- Student Fan Hiu Ting, Diplomain Professional Accounting Year 2 of our Kwun Tong Vocational Training Centre won Top Student award in Computerised Accounts Examination of HKIAAT.
2006-07
- Lam Tsz Ching, student of our Kwun Tong Nursery School was the champion of the 2-5 years old world group of the "International Youth (Greenpower Poster Contest 2006)" organised by "Greenheart Project Team".
- A program of our Cheung Fat Home for the Elderly won 'the Best Award of 2006/07 Opportunities for the Elderly Project' in Tsuen Wan and Kwai Tsing District.
- The learning activities of the Central Nursery School, "Dragon soil, dragon heart - My Chinese Heart" and "Children Life and Death Education - ignite life of each other, connected with love" were praised with the Hong Kong 9th "Moral and Citizen Education Reward Scheme" Award. It was provided by the Education Manpower Bureau and the Yan Chai Hospital. The school received ten thousand dollars as a reward. It is also the only one Nursery School rewarded with two awards.
- "Back to School" program is specifically designed for youth aged 15-19, who had quit school to gain a second chance of receiving their formal education. In the past 3 years, we had witnessed 83 students had their dream come true - successfully resumed schooling. Some participants were also rewarded a prize because of their personal striving experience in "Back to School" program.
- Mr. Wong Sing Fai, student of our Kwun Tong Vocational Training Centre, obtained first in world in the London Chamber of Commerce & Industry 2006 Series 3 Second Level Bookkeeping & Accounts Examination.
- One of our pilot projects, Project "Building Power" was highly appreciated by the public and received a wide coverage from the mass media. It demonstrated how the government, business sector, professional bodies and non-government organisations could joint together to help the poor to improve their living environment effectively.
- A student of our Kwun Tong Vocational Training Centre won championship in the Students Group of Environment Protection Photo Contest co-sponsored by DC Photo and Photo Magazine.
- Miss Wu Ka Po, student of our Pui Oi School, was awarded a scholarship in the A.S. Watson Group Hong Kong Student Sports Awards 2006-07.
2005-06
- Ah Wah and Ah Kai finished the "Back to School" preparation course and went back to school in September of 2004 and 2005 respectively. They now study at Yu Chun Keung Memorial College No.2. Ah Wah is in Form 5 and Ah Kai in form 3. Both of them came first in their respective Form levels in the mid-term examinations.
- Najaf Aziz, who is a member of our Project SASA, has won a big prize in a women award scheme organised by Hong Kong Women Development Association for her outstanding performance in serving the community and courage to face difficulties and excellent learning attitude.
- Ms. Apple Tse Ho Yi, supervisor of Shamshuipo Central Integrated Children & Youth Service won the Outstanding Scoail Workers Award. Ms. Ko Pui Yee, a LET's Walk (Life Engagement Training Scheme) social worker, won the Junior Outstanding Social Workers Award. Ms. Winnie Ying Fung Sau and Ms. Rainbow Cheung Kam Hung are also the winners of Outstanding Social Worker in the past election.
- Ms Li Fai presented the champion award of the Slogan Design Competition of Yau Tsim Mong Elders' Games Day to Ms. Fung Chi Yin, Student of our Institute of the Third Age.
- A drama society formed by the youngsters of Kwun Tong Integrated Children and Youth Service has won an "Outstanding Performance Award" in a community drama project subsidised by Hong Kong Arts Development Council and organised by Prospects Theatre.
- The drawing of child who studies at Lei Cheng Uk Nursery School won the first prize in a "Child Friendly" community drawing contest. The theme of her drawing is about museum and community and it is judged as the most creative one of all the painting in the competition.
- The children our Central Nursery School won the second prize and certificate of merit respectively in an "Environmental Story Telling Audio Chip Design Competition" organised by the Environmental Compaign Committee and the Environmental Protection Department.
