Ethnic Minority Services

Service Objectives

We strive for the integration of ethnic minorities into the community and promote cross-cultural understanding and respect for the achievement of social cohesion. We work hand in hand with the ethnic minorities to build platforms to develop their potentials and broaden their life exposures and are particularly concern for the welfare of South Asian ladies and youngsters.

Service Targets

All ethnic minority residents in Hong Kong.

Service Contents

  • To assist the ethnic minorities in knowing daily life information and skills
  • To provide interpretation and translation services to the ethnic minorities in English and seven ethnic minority languages.
  • To provide life planning services to the ethnic minority youth.
  • To provide mutual support groups for South Asian ladies.
  • To assist non-Chinese kindergarten students in learning Chinese.

Service Approach

To provide user-oriented translation services, such as video conference, over-the-phone interpretation, on site (escort) interpretation, translation and proof-reading service. At the same time, our multi-cultural professional teams organise a wide-range of social services, such as computer and language classes, after-school support tutorials, social skill training, cross cultural activities, employment supportive services, etc.
