Goal

The Elderly Council (EC) is dedicated to promote members’ awareness of civil rights and responsibility and facilitate their active participation in social affairs, as well as working together with them on arousing public concern on the elders.

Objective
  • To enhance members' understanding on social affairs related to the elders
  • To motivate members' active participation and advocacy for the advancement of social policies
  • To arouse public awareness and concern on elder affairs through community education

  • Organized a sharing session on public consultation on medical reform
  • Completed a survey on "Age-friendly-drug label" and transmitted opinions to the government

Discussed on the influences of "Consultancy Study on Community Care Services for the Elderly" on the elders
2012
Co-organized the Elderly Summit and met with Social Welfare Department on "Community Care Service Voucher for the Elderly (CCSV)"
2013
Organized an election on top 10 age-friendly/ unfriendly issues
2014
  • Responded to the public consultation on population policy
  • Discussed on "Pilot Scheme on Residential Care Service Voucher for the Elderly (RCSV)"
2015
  • Discussed on "Elderly Services Programme Plan (ESPP)"
  • Discussed on "Community Care Service Voucher for the Elderly (CCSV)"
