Objective
  1. MHCDC is a special child care centre cum early education and training centre, with a view to provide quality training and supportive service to children of special needs and their carers. We aim at assisting children overcome developmental barriers and develop their potential to the fullest via professional training and holistic care to their families.
  2. We strongly believe that early education and training can facilitate children of special needs develop their ability and improve their quality of life. Based on our core belief on the importance of love and taking children’s holistic development and family care as our prime concern, systematic approach has been adopted to facilitate parents to accept, understand, and nurture their children. Besides, we deliver counseling service and guidance to parents for handling their stress and difficulties on parenting.

  3. Occasional Child Care Service
  4. To provide a safe venue for parents or carers to place their children for temporary care so as to enable them to attend to personal or urgent matters.


  5. Extended Hours of Occasional Child Care Service
  6. To meet the social needs of families and working parents who need longer hours of child care assistance.

Service Target
  1. Early Education and Training Centre Service
  2. Children from birth to 6 years old who are at risk of becoming disabled, with developmental delay, physical or intellectual disability are eligible for applying for our service AND parents/ carers of such children.

  3. Special Child Care Centre Service
  4. Children aged from 2 to 6 years old with moderate or severe physical and/or intellectual disability, learning disability, autism and behavioral problems AND parents/ carers of such children.

  5. Occasional Child Care Service
  6. 2 to 6 years old Children with special needs and their siblings

  7. Extended Hours of Occasional Child Care Service
  8. Children who are utilizing our special child care centre service or occasional child care service

Application for Service

Early Education and Training Centre/ Special Child Care Centre Service

Application for service can be made via referrals by medical social services units, integrated family service centres, child assessment centres, Paediatric Department of public/ private hospitals and pre-school rehabilitation centres. Referrals are made to the Central Referral System for Rehabilitation Services (CRS-Rehab) for awaiting relevant placement. When our centre receives notification from CRS-Rehab, our social worker will contact parents/ carers for orientation programmes and handle related admission procedures.

Occasional Child Care Service/ Extended Hours of Occasional Child Care Service

Parents/ Cares can make direct applications themselves by phone.

Withdrawnal/ Terminational of Service
  1. Early Education and Training Centre/ Special Child Care Centre Service will be terminated under the following circumstances:
    • other types of preschool rehabilitation placement has been arranged for the child
    • child was assessed to be of age-appropriate developmental ability and functioning
    • the first 1st September after the child reaches the age of 6
    • parent’s/ carer’s decision for self-withdrawal from service

  2. Parents/ carers process the rights to withdraw from our service, which can be executed by giving one-month written notice to our centre with the completion of related procedures

  3. Prior notice and interview with parents/ carers will be provided before initiating the termination of service. Appropriate referral will be made if necessary
Fee
  1. Early education and training centre service
  2. Training Fee: $146 per year

  3. Special child care centre service
  4. Service Fee: $354 per month

  5. Occasional Child Care Service
  6. Service Fee: $16 per 2 hours

  7. Extended Hours of Occasional Child Care Service
  8. Service Fee: $6.5 per 0.5 hour; $13 per hour; $650 per month (2.5 hours/day)

In addition to regular classrooms, training rooms and therapy rooms, our centre has the following facilities:

  1. Multi-Art Corner -provision of various kinds of attractive art materials, drawing board, musical instrument and piano, together with our conscious effort to nurture children’s aesthetic development, facilitates children’s all mental development and creativity.

  2. Sensory Integration Room - a variety of sensory installations provides children visual, auditory and tactile stimulation, under such relaxing atmosphere, children gain abundant sensory experience beneficial to their development.

  3. Home training Room -a simulating home environment helps parent equip the essential skills for fostering child’s development at home and daily living
